Workington Cricket Club Project Information

On 20 November 2009, the River Derwent which runs alongside Workington Cricket Club ground, burst it's banks and flooded the Club House, changing rooms and the playing surface to a depth of around 1.50 metres. The existing buidings were partially demolished and replaced with new facilities. Insurance cover failed to cover the full costs of the contract and the shortfall was met by an extensive fundraising effort by Club members. Works commenced in mid April 2010 and are scheduled to last around 8 months.
